Paddy

Prize winning Patterdale Terrier

Paddy the Patterdale Terrier on the beach

Here are two pictures of Paddy the Patterdale who came to live with us in September 2007, he was 9 months old then and we were his third owners already.  He is now 18 months old and has taken over the household completely, for a dog that was supposed to live outside he has now got three beds - 1 in our bedroom, 1 in the kitchen and a blanket on our new leather suite!  Paddy is a typical Patterdale who is very sociable with most dogs but if another dog thinks he may be dominant with him they are soon despatched so lick their wounds (Paddy doesn't start fights he just finishes them).  At home he likes to curl up at night and sit quiet just having a cuddle and knowing where all the members of the family are.  We have three sons ages 27, 24 and 18 and he keeps them in their place by playing rough and tumble and a few nips just to tell them who is boss.

On bank holiday Saturday, 24th May 2008 we were very proud of Paddy as he came first in the terrier section of the Napton Show even though he had not been brushed for a couple of days and had his old collar and lead on - so his personality must have shone through.

Anybody thinking of owning a Patterdale will have a lot of fun but please be prepared to be full on with one 24 hours a day.
