The Eurasier breed of dog is a relatively modern dog first bred in the 1970's in Germany.

The Eurasier is primarily for companionship and the family environment. They prefer and need to be brought up and trained in a family that they know. They do not like kennels, strange environments, being tied up or being treated harshly because of their sensitive and sociable nature. They are aware of strangers in their midst, becoming reserved but not aggressive.

They make great companions if looked after well and have been used as therapy dogs.

Outside when exercising they are lively and fun. They do not often bark, but will do if they have a reason.
